Many people will say that objective questions are unfair as some results do not give a clear picture of someone’s understanding on a given topic but still multiple assessments that are quite related can filter out the noise. There are so many reasons why you may want to assess your candidates through multiple choices. Objectives that are well organised can help out students on some topics that are hard to answer in essay format.

  • They are consistent because they have a fixed answer.
  • They focus on getting out candidate’s understanding of the subject.
  • Understand the thinking and problem-solving ability of the candidate.
  • Evaluate how each candidate approach the same question and select the one with the best approach
  • Evaluates the writing and communicating ability of the candidate.
  • Mixing up related answers but only one is the best choice allows to filter out incompetent candidates quickly.
  • The candidates are not bias whatsoever as they is no room for final judgement on the answer by the examiner. Once the right answer is found, it will always be that unless any amendment is done on the question. This give courage to students to strengthen their understanding on a given topic.
  • They aid students in consolidating a given topic as answers are brought close to them in options.
